#ShareAStory ‘Woodpecker Grey’ #100WordStory
Woodpecker Grey (Folklore)
A girl who lived on the edge of the forest, loved to dance and party. She often asked her friend the little grey woodpecker, to help her with her make-up. She would get out her paint’s and stroke bright colours across her cheeks. Grey would weave bright ribbons in her hair.
Now Grey was called thus as he had dull feathers. One day when the maid was out dancing, she left a paint brush of red upon the floor. The little bird decided to paint his cheeks and belly. From then onwards he was seen happily flying around the forest.
Share a #Nursery Rhyme with Ewe-nice
Mary, Mary.
Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.
